“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.”
(Ephesians 1:3)

The Book of Ephesians has been called the “crown of Paul’s writings;” the “quintessence of Paulinism,” the “divinest composition of man,” and the “Queen of the epistles.” Nobody can read it without being moved to wonder and worship, and challenged to consistency of life. Indeed, throughout history, countless readers have been brought to faith through its pages and stirred to good works by its message. Many scholars argue that among all of Paul’s writings, only Romans can match Ephesians for exercising the most influence on Christian thought and spirituality from the 1st century right down to the present day.  The Book of Ephesians has been called the “believer’s bank” and the “treasure house” of the Bible because it tells believers of their great riches, inheritance, and fullness in Jesus Christ; and how they can claim and enjoy those blessings in their everyday lives. Ephesians speaks with great power to our contemporary situation; and in an increasingly postmodern world that seems to have lost all sense of direction, it is refreshing in its affirmation that ultimate truth not only exists, but is important. Namely the truth of God and His gospel–a truth that stands over and against the lies and moral relativism of the world. With its broad sweep of the divine purposes, its grand themes and emphasis on unity, truth, and love, along with its profound concerns that God’s people should lives as His new humanity in Christ, Ephesians is a marvelously concise, yet comprehensive, summary of the Christian Good News and its implications in a believer’s life.
