Kingdom Principles - Living Waters

“I bestow upon you a kingdom, just as my Father bestowed one upon me…”

(Luke 22:29)

The Kingdom of God is a central part of the Gospel and of the message and ministry of Jesus. It’s an invitation for people to return to the life God originally intended from the very beginning. However, God doesn’t just set up a standard of morality and declare that when we’ve achieved it we can enter the Kingdom. There’s only one requirement for entrance: Repenting from sin and spiritual rebirth. As Jesus says in Matthew 4:17; “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” By repenting and accepting Jesus Christ as Saviour we’re born into the Kingdom and become a Kingdom resident. The lifestyle of the Kingdom of God is the exact opposite of the kingdoms of the world; and entering it is like immigrating to a new country with a new and different culture. In the natural world, the word ‘culture’ describes the behaviour patterns which govern life in a given society, and we need to know and understand them in order to live in that society. Similarly, Scripture speaks of the existence of a kingdom culture governed by spiritual laws; and whether we acknowledge them or not, these spiritual laws, or kingdom principles, have a dramatic affect on our lives and relationships.

This 8-week summer sermon series will explore eight kingdom principles that God has established, and if we allow them, can help us better live our lives in relation to each other, and produce the fruit that Jesus would have us produce.
